    A6 codes 850

Hi, I just recently overcame a TPS fault.I had a 2-2-3 and a 4-1-1 code as you stated. The 2-2-3 code is related to (TPS throttle sensor signal too low) and the 4-1-1 code is related to ( Throttle position sensor (TPS) signal from fuel injection system missing or faulty. So both faults suggested that my TPS is dodgey.I investigated and found that this link help me locate the TPS.
http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/ftrap.php .I could not find any info on repairing the TPS.I sprayed my male and female contacts on the TPS with contact cleaner and the fault ceased.I also purchased a seconhand unit and replaced the TPS; this also removed the fault.I would suggest to change it out. They are pretty costly bits of plastic a new one cost me $200.00 AU.
I also have a previous post under Throttle Position Sensor on this page , check it out if you already haven't.
Let me know how you went.

    Regards,

    Si850

      A6 codes 850

      Hi,
Well i noticed the codes showed up when i did a flame trap service (replace and clean Throttle Body). I did try to clean with contact cleaner last month but codes went back, but i did not take the whole assembly out. Will take off the whole unit over the weekend and see what happens. New TPS at FCPGroton.com is about $45. Worst comes to worst i just might settle for a new one....Do you think this has something to do with black soots noticeable on my muffler? Cold(real cold) start sets gas fumes but goes away after warm up.
Thanks for the reply and have a great weekend.
