Any tips on installing the Volvo power antenna switch? S70

I plan on installing the Volvo Power Antenna Kit on my 2000 S70 later this week (after I get the anti-theft radio code from my dealership).

Anyone have any tips on installing the kit?

Any hiccups experienced that aren't covered in the manual?

It looks pretty clear cut... but I figured I would ask before I get into it, just in case.

Thanks,

Mike H

Any tips on installing the Volvo power antenna switch? S70

Oddly enough, I was installing this switch on my V70 (Yeah, my Vee-seventy!) last weekend, I have my radar detector on a separate circuit and the unique "Y" icon made it a nice, non-confusing switch.......

I about went nuts getting the black corrugated crushable steel knee bolster out of the car. (This was particularly disturbing because I've had the dash apart in the past to install the fog lights.) There are 8 bolts in 2 different sizes holding the bolster on -- 11-12-13-14mm -- I don't recall but anyway the two ones that attach the bolster to the center consoile are nearly-blind bolts. Fortunately, I figued this out before I broke anything or bent things too much. But my back STILL hurts, and it's Wednesday!

I'm not sure if '00s for the US market have the bolster. It may be a '98 only thing.

Good luck! If you're using it for the radio it looks like it simply plugs in.
