850 Radio buttons dead - how to remove basic AM/FM cassette radio from 850? 850 1996

My 850 radio will turn on, but NO other buttons will respond. Stuck on an AM station. So I disconnected the battery to get in "code" mode to hopefully reset, but of course I can't reset it because the buttons don't work (duh)!

1) How to fix this problem?

2) And how the heck to you get the radio out of the car?

Thanx.

BTW, if you take that radio to a dealer, he can get you one that has a single CD player in the face for about $225.
Ebay has them also, but be careful. You will need the code.

Thanks. $225 is way too much for my limited budget. I made sure the $20 811 came with an unlock code (person was upgrading to a Panasonic.....)Seller was so cool that I got two code cards and the pages from the manual for this radio (which of course I had in my normal glove box manual)

Anyhow this radio actually sounds a bit better - and it arrived really fast.

If it is a SC 810 there will be 2 vertical slots at the bottom of the head unit face , push them in with a pointy object once that is done the slots will eject tabs , pull the tabs towards you and your radio will slide out, making sure you disconnect the electrical service from the back. This site might be helpful.
