1998 S70 T5 front axle shaft replacement S70

I am going to replace my axle shaft since I already have a bad wheel bearing on the drivers side that needs replacing. I checked out Volvospeed.com and there is a well documented procedure on how to change the wheel hub, does anyone know what the additional procedures are for changing out the axle shaft, or is it just a matter of pulling the axle shaft out and putting the new one in once the suspension is apart?

Thank you very much!

I recently replaced the half shaft boots on my 98 s70. once you tap out the half shaft from the bearing, you need to pull out the half shaft from the tranny. At first you think that it is not possible for it to come out, but keep trying back and forth and it will pop out. Volvospeed.com web site as you mentioned is pretty clear on how to change the bearing.

The left axle is held in place with a retainer circlip at the end of the joint that inserts in the tranny.
To remove it you need to pry appart the joint from the tranny. Insert a chisel between the tranny case and the joint and tap it. The axle will be freed right away.
Everything else is explained in the instructions you saw.
