check engine light - engine wet? S40-V40

I just washed my 2000 s40 at the car wash and decided to really soak it under the hood. After I left the car wash it ran fine until about 5 minutes later it started loosing power and running really bad and the check engine light came on. blinking even. Did I screw up my car or will it dry out and be ok?? what do you think got wet that would do this?

check engine light - engine wet? S40-V40

I had sprayed water on the engine of my 2000 S40 a few times and had a reslting problem with ignition. Check the two coils which sit atop two of the spark plugs. The coils sit in a deep depression around the top of the spark plug and water can get down in there. If you leave the water in there, the coils may rust. Note that to remove the coils you have to remove a 10mm bolt holding each one down. D

I also had once those symtoms. It is possible tt something somewhere is wet. Let ur engine dry and re-set ur codes. If u do not have the possibilities to re-set them, revert to a dealer they can reset ur codes i.e throughout Vadis and then check if the cel comes back. But should be ok. If not then u shud act and repair according to the codes.
