Passenger Door Wont Open S70 1998

I own a 98 S70 T5 and have a problem with the passenger door not opening from the outside. It does open from the inside just not the outside. I never heard anything break in the door that might have caused the problem so i really cant figure out what is causing it. I have taken of the door panel but cannot get to area where the door lock and latch are located because of metal that is covering it. Does anyone know of this issue or know how to fix it?

I had the exactly the same problem same as yours. The resolution is posted on an earlier post. Look for "S70 Door Locks" posted by barry01 dated Apr 29.

if you have the door panel off, there is plastic cover just above the metal regulator plate and remove it and get a flashlight and look up in there while you operate the outer door handle. you should be able to see whats happening and fix accordingly.
