Disabling/removing side air bags from used seats to be installed in a 544, 850 1996

I purchased a nice set of cloth front seats from a '96 850 for our new PV 544. This sweet brick came with 140 seats which are worn badly and too large for the cockpit,

The 850 seats seem to fit well, but there is not enough room for the plastic side pieces that hold the switches to trigger the side air bags.

I plan on cutting the wires to the switches and soldering them together so that the bags won't fire.

Does anyone know if the bag mechanisms can be pulled out of the seats without causing problems?

If you're getting rid of the bags would you mind selling the right side one to me? I'm in need of one! E-mail me at tozion@gmail.com

Thanks!

First of all, they're mechanical and independant from the electric SRS system in 850s so they could even work in your 544 IF something in the side were to hit the firing device, lower side, front of seat.

If you want them gone, undo the upper seat upholstery and remove the sips bag. It's not that hard to do.
