s80 AIR BAG LIGHT S80 2000

Bought a 2000 s80 T6 2 years ago, put a CD changer but disconnected the Air Control unit resulting in the Air Bag Failure light (orange triangle on dash) to appear. It didn't bother me but i had a reall and thought they could re-set the light. Well the car had other faults when they scanned it, they said they could not re-set just the air bag light without clearing all the others codes, they want the car for a day day and a half to clear all codes, at $90.00 per hours. Is it true you can't clear just the air bag code (assumming it is a "low power" fault in air bag because I diconnected the acu)?

Thanks,

Andy

Not true. The SRS light can only be reset by the dealer, but is not affected by the other codes, unless they too, are SRS related. I hope you asked what the other codes were and wrote them down. If you go to Autozone, they can read the codes and reset them for you, giving you the knowledge you need to face the dealer when those codes reappear.
A day and a half to reset codes??? 15 minutes is more like it. If software is to be down loaded, that is a different story. Not all codes require immediate fixing, like "misfire on #2" after going 0-60-0 in a real hurry. Better plugs would help if you do that a lot.
Find out what they intend to do for you and what they want to charge you and what the codes are.
