Stalling 850

'94 855 Turbo 145k miles. Just had recall for fuel tank lines done last Thursday. Car had been running fine. Now stalls for no apparent reason, no codes thrown, no check engine light etc. Mechanic says he has no idea because car will not stall 24 hours later. Car feels like it is getting no fuel when it dies. Do not want to get stranded again. Any ideas? MAF?

    Stalling 850

I am currently toubleshooting stalling issues. Looks like the MAF is testing out of range for me. I still want to suggest another possibility for anyone who feels like the car isn't getting gas for some inexplicable reason.

We drove Our car for a few YEARS with an intermittent stalling issue. It wasn't weather, drive time temperature or any other "normal" cause related issue. It seemed to happen when the tank was about half full.

There is, in the 93 850 anyway, a hose that runs from the fuel pump intake to the top of the pump. Its about a 4" hose I guess but the top end of the hose was just touching the nipple it was supposed to be connected to. When the tank was full there was no problem getting gas. When it was low the hose was touching hard enough that it would maintain flow. But, when the tank was half full the fuel in the tank would push on the hose as it sloshed around and create an opening that would suck air. Once I found that It's been fine (except of course for the current issue).

This is always such a headache when you take a perfectively running car to a dealer for some simple servicing and then a problem starts. Was there any other work done? Moving the fuel tank around may have shaken up some sediment but then again you'd think normal driving would prevent this from happening. Hard to tell?? Try a visual inspection for any crimped hoses and replace the filter.

I changed the fuel filter and she seems to be running better, I still feel hesitation when I really push her. Fuel lines look good. Starting to remind me of my old VW camper, never sure if I'm are gonna get there.
