Hi: Looking for info. about a possible purchase.

Car is a 1997 850 AWD w/ a 5sp manual. Asking price $10900 CDN. 130,000 km

Don't know what the engine is (turbo or not) Actually I don't even know what engines they came w/ them. (I have a 740 & 940)

Any opinions appreciated.

I don't believe that it is a AWD, prob FWD. Depends if turbo or not. Also don't know the exchange rate to USD.

      850 AWD opinion re: purchase 850 1997

AWD model 850s were imported into Canada. There were also some 850s with manual transmissions there. So, it is quite probable that the description is accurate. They got some models there that we obviously didn't get here in the States. As such, a parallel is going to be hard to come by. I would suggest looking at the prices of an AWD 98 V70 and a manual 98 V70 to begin to get an idea of what the price range should be, comparably equipped, of course. Those models are plentiful.

        Hi,
A good friend of mine has a 97 850 AWD 5 speed (Canada). She`s owned it for 6 or 7 years & it`s been a very reliable car. Of course there is the usual 850 issues; AC, etc.
Re: price. Check KBB or go to the local library & check their redbook numbers. At least it will provide a reference regarding price.
        Good luck!
