Engine mounts, how do you check them? 850 1995

There is suspition my exhaust manifold flex joint failure is due to one or more bad engine mounts. Anyone have experience with which mounts fail and can you check them w/o total removal? I see a front and a back mount as well as one on top of the engine. There appear to also be mounts at each corner of the sub frame.

    Leave the car in Park and gently rock the car back and forth. Watch the top mount and the forward mount under the radiator for flex and compression.

    What year, etc? I would suspect the damper mount on the back of the firewall first. Seems to be the most prone.
