How to tighten up the handling on a 2001 T5 V70-XC70

All,

I have a 2001 T5 with 44K on it (5 speed). It handles okay, but it is too cushy for my liking. My question is.

Does it have sway bars? Will the ones from IPD tighten up the ride?

Am planning on putting on Bilsteins which I know will help.

Any other suggestions to turn this back into a true European handling car?

I have an 01 V70. I have the Eibach springs that were suggested by another post, and agree they will help - just realize they will lower your car 1.3 - 1.5 inches.

I have IPD sway bars - I feel well worth the money for improved handling. I also have sport shocks/ struts but not the Heavy duty Bilsteins - they are pretty harsh if you do the springs also (I have HDs on another volvo). Mine are Sachs - little stiffer ride than stock but not as much as the HD billsteins.

Just some ideas - hope this helps, TB

The problem with that car is the body roll. A non expensive way to improve that is a set of these: http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?autoMake=Volvo&autoModel=V70+T5&autoYear=2001&autoModClar=&make=Eibach&model=Pro-Kit+Spring+Set&group=Pro-Kit+Spring+Set&partNum=8426.140&perfCode=S
