Which Haynes Manual to Buy? 850 1995

Hi - New here and 4 months new to Volvo. I have a T5 with 150K and absolutely love it. Previous owners did a lot of routine maintenance (whew!) and came with all records. I have been researching manuals, and see 2 Haynes manuals, the hardcover and softcover, that cover my year and model. The covers look different, they were published in different years, and I am wondering if one is better? I looked here and elsewhere and could not find a comparison. TIA Don

I should have mentioned that I have seen the outstanding online resources. The people who created these are angels. That said, I was hoping for something on paper (other than the mechanic's phone #) to have handy (I still use snail speed dial-up). From a small sample it sounds like the paperback may be as good as the hardcover, even if neither is very useful. Thank you for your responses.

I bought the softcover and I found it to be completely useless to me, I doubt the hardcover is much better. It doesn't have enough illustrations and for me - a non mechanic - it was too difficult to figure out what they were talking about when they said "remove the grapplegrommet from the thingy" the explanantions on each topic are so short and assume you already know how to do whatever it is.

If you have good familiarity with mechanical terminology it may be better for you.

But like Dave said I found volvospeed and this forum to be far more useful support for my DIY maintenance work!

Actually, I would buy the paper version. That, in combination with this site and volvospeed should give you all you need. Lots of times, it's quicker to grab the book for torque settings, etc...

If I was to do it all over I wouldn't buy either, I made the mistake of buying both. Use this page and Volvospeed.com. I have found the Volvospeed.com pages to be far better that the Haynes manual.
