That damn armrest S40-V40

I have a 2000 S40 that has that damn armrest on the left side of the drivers seat. Needless to say it won't stay in the up position, so it keeps flopping down into the way when I'm driving. A REAL PAIN! does anyone know if there is a way to tighten this thing up or remove it?

    Hmm, no replies. I have that same thing happening to my V40. Looks like we'll have to dig into them to see what to fix.
