what exactly is the flame trap 850

I am looking to replace the flame trap. Is this the actual part name?

If the flame trap is filled with gunk it would be wise to look at the oil seperator and connecting hose for being plugged.

may well have been removed by a volvo dealer - this is now standard practice on 850's...so my dealer tells me and showed me the paperwork to prove...

There are very good illustrated instructions in the Volvospeed web site in the "Bay 13" repair section.
