What service manuals are available for this car?

I have a Haynes manual for 850's, thru 1997 or so, but the '99 XC is different.

I haven't seen a Haynes manual advertised for this model.

I saw a post saying that an AllData subscription is an option.

Any advice?

I have both Vadis and Alldata. Alldata is great, with mostly vadis data in it. But, Vadis is more complete with parts lists, diagnostics, pictures. But, for the home light duty work, go with alldata.com. It really is sufficient for the shadetree mechanic

Skip the service manuals...they are nearly worthless. Go to EBay and search for VADIS...buy the dvd...you'll have everything. Make sure the seller is providing username and password.

Are these discs suitable for an amateur who just wants help flushing coolant, changing belts etc? THey sound rather over my head!

its a great manual with blow up diagrams, part numbers, TSB's, relay/sensor locator, etc and much much more.
