HELP!!!! Car will not move when put in gear V70-XC70 1999

I was driving along the other day and it started.... The car lunges foward from a complete stop. There is a grinding sound when in first or reverse gears. And at times... like now... I put it in reverse and nothing happens... it goes nowhere... When 2 or higher gears there is no issue. It just started this recently and seems to be worsened when the "W" button is activated and after....

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably not it but pull your AT dipstick and make sure you have fluid and it doesn't look like rancid milk. Also check your coolant tank to make sure your antifreeze looks OK and isn't a milky pink. A small leak in the tranny cooler inside the radiator will allow ATF/antifreeze to mix which is not good as antifreeze destroyes the AT clutches over time. The problem usually shows up first when starting off in first gear and in reverse and progresses to total failure. Hope this ain't it.
