over-ride switch 850

HOW THE over-ride switch work ..?
when I supose to use it ?

    If you have a problem with the shift lock release you can manually override it with that, to get it out of park. But you still have to have the key in the on position to operate it. There are 2 common problems that cause it, the ignition switch and the microswitch on the shifter.
