Before I buy a new assy...any ideas as to why the front passenger side seat belt will not retract?

    It could be twisted. Pull it all of the way out to verify. The rewind tension has always been weak in these cars.
    If that doesn't work, find a junk yard to get a new one.

        Just thinkin'... Seat belts are a safety warranty item. Perhaps the dealer will do it for free???? No harm in asking.

          Seatbelt warranty is 5 years.
