Creaking front end V70-XC70 1998

OK....about 1 month ago my passenger side front end started making a rubber creaking sound..............this started during that nice cold snap we had where temps at night got to zero and below but now it does it all the time. The noise gets less after you drive it for a while in the AM. Since I have 120K, maybe its time for struts..........but what else would I need to replace in there so the creaking goes away? Is that the upper bearing? What all parts should I replace?

Sounds like strut mount bushings. You can get those for about 20 each, and also pickup the mount plate/bearing for around 70. Check www.fcpgroton.com
good prices and depending on where you are, quick delivery.

    They also have the struts.

Have a look at the anti-sway bar links and their bushings. Unless they are too badly worn, some lubricant may reduce the creaking. This is most often the cause of similar noises under my Brick.

      I replaced the sway...... V70-XC70 1998

bar links 15K miles ago and that noise was a clunking rattling noise over good bumps. This is like a dry rubber creaking noise over minor roughness in the road and its ALWAYS worse when its ice cold and the car was sitting for several hours or more.
