Engine light on with error code, EFI 442 EFI 448 and EFI 446 S70 1998

A common cause for the "P" code 442 is a faulty secondary air system (SAS) valve. The valve itself is a common failure. You can physically test it by jumping the air pump relay and grounding the solenoid to activate the vacuum to the valve. This may be a bit too technical, so try to trouble shoot the problem by using a small hand held vacuum pump.

    Please take a look at:http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/airpump1.htm

The web author has covered most of the common failures that plague the "slow leak" P codes. Good Luck!
    Cheers!

442 is air pump relay signal missing. 446&448 are not documented? Check the airpump connectors, clean them. Also check to see if the airpump is working at all after cold engine start.
