Just an update to my previous post, re: pothole incident. I have included some photos:
View of pothole towards North
View of pothole towards South (direction we were going)
Bent Rim on rear wheel
Close-up of bent wheel
Hole 7 inches deep
The way it looked when we hit the pothole Friday night
Volvo Skid Plate - it seems the skid plate scraped the road surface
We were doing about 40 mph or so when we hit the pothole. Trashed both hubcaps on passenger side and bent the rear rim. We just replaced the snows with the standard alloys with all-seasons and took the car for a test drive on the highway. Everything seems normal -- no pulling to the side, no vibration, no abnormal sounds.
My question is: Should I still have our local Volvo shop check the car out (particularly the suspension) or I shouldn't have anything to worry?
Thanks.
