    wipers dont touch windsheild ? 850 1995

Common problem with high mileage 850. It just happened to me last week. The upper edge of the blade started not to touch the glass first, then, gradually, after the snow storm, the whole blade when the wiper arm was at almost vertical position.

Bay13 has the fix. I took the whole wiper arm out, and then bent the section which is right after the end of the spring attached down a little bit. Very thick aluminium, not easy to bend but it did come down. Be careful not to over do it or you will break the arm !!

Bay13 method is to use the wiper linkage shaft to hold the wiper arm and then you bend it at the section where the spring is attached to. My co-worker did that and he cracked the windshield. That's why I took the whole wiper arm out and bent it on a workbench instead.

The new arm (driver side) was about $50 from Boston Volvo.

Dumb question.... but could they just be frozen? During a snowstorm this weekend, my wipers lifted from the glass. After sitting in the heated garage, all was fine again.

Open the hood loosen the nut on the wiper arm , apply pressure where the arm hinges and at the same time tighten the nut
