Dirty headlamp lens S80 1999

The interior of my headlamp lenses are dirty with condensation. Does anyone have a solution short of replacing the entire assembly?

A friend of mine use to complain about the pain to replace a headlight on his S80 -99. The complete plastic bumper cover has to be removed, the rivets in the wheelhouses must be drilled out. The workshop recommended to do the job a warm day so the huge plastic sheet dont crack during removal, that would be a very expensive mistake... Maybe our jurassic V70 isnt so bad after all :)

I think that you need to carefully inspect the lens and housing and find out where the moisture is getting in, then repair the leak. If the lens is held on by clips, then there is a gasket.

If your headlight is like our 850s, the bulbhoolder is vented to the engine compartment, so it is not actually sealed,

If you can find the source of the moisture and repair it, then you might use a hairdrier aimed into the bulb hole to dry the assembly out.

Do not try to clean or wipe the reflector.

There was a bulletin for '99-00.5 S80s to replace the headlamp caps closest to the radiator with new ones. The new ones have a gore-tex insert which allows the moisture to exit. If you'res are rally bad, you may need new ligt buckets. Try the caps first.
