New '94 850 Turbo owner, got a few questions! no owners manual 850 1994

Hey all,

I just bought a 1994 850 Turbo, Im in Victoria BC Canada. The car is in extremely good condition, with all service records since its original purchase, and has had only one owner. The last service was at 142,400KM and that was its 144,000 Check (according to the maitainance booklet). The date for that check was December 2003. I bought the car yesterday (March 9, 2005) and it has 143,800KM. So it has only had 1,400KM in the last year or so.

My Question(s) / Observations are:

The car idle's fine, but at speeds above 50km, or RPM's about 3,000 There is some hesitation (slight) followed by surging (more prominent) at intervals of about 2-3 seconds. The is more noticeable with more boost (or more throttle) and on accelerations. It also seems to be sluggish off the line.

The Lambda light was on, so I checked the engine codes, receiving 4-3-6 (Rear o2 Sensor Max. Compensation) and 2-4-1 (EGR Low Flow Fault).

I recently cleared that, but havnt driven since, my guess is it will come back. The salesman suggested that the engine had been cleaned, and some electrical had gotten wet, I checked as best as I could but it all seemed fine.
I havnt checked in depth for vacuum leaks, but everything looks pretty new, some elbows are quite soft though.

Also, since my car is 1994, from what I've read it seems im between OBD I and OBD II. In the dash it says "OBD II" and in the engine it says "OBD I Certified" Which is it?

Thanks in advance,

- Graham McMicken
