Coolant Sensor Light S70 1999

My coolant sensor light went on and so I topped it off with fluid. The light went off when I turned the car on..but within a minute was back on again. I added more fluid until it was right to the brim and the same thing happened. The light is now continually on. The temperature gauge seems right in the middle where it belongs. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue a while back (18 months of so). I disconnected the sensor connection to the coolant container and reconnected it. It's worked fine ever since.

I'm assuming the '99 S70 is same as my '98, the sensor would be inside the coolant reservoir and the electrical connector is underneath the reservoir. Detach the reservoir and rinse it off to clear any debris that might be preventing the float from function properly. As you are reconnecting the hoses back, be careful not to over tighten the hose as you can easily crack the plastic. Run the car at its normal operating temperature and check to make sure you do not have a leak.

          Coolant Reservoir S70 2000

Say - speaking of removing & rinsing the coolant reservoir....
I can't seem to get the power steering tank removed so I can remove the coolant reservoir. I don't want to break the plastic for either.... any advice?
