Just replaced the ignition switch in the 96 850GLT about a week ago, and today the key started staying in the starter position during start up. Question is whether this is a defective ignition switch (electronic) or is the spring return in the key portion of the switch???

Since the ignition switch came from Volvo I would like to return it if defective. Thank you in advance...

The spring is not in the key portion, go back to the dealer.

I called the delaer this morning and they agreed that the switch was defective.
