XC vs XC SE? V70-XC70

I have a 740GL with 180,000 miles on it and it is a beautiful car! I am now looking to add to our Volvo stable (selling off our Prius) and am considering a 1999-2001 XC. I have noticed a few variations on the models...1) "R" (which I know has a pumped up engine) and 2) the "SE" (which I cannot find anything about). I suspect it is an option package of accessories, but have not found any info. Can anyone share with me what I can expect to find as the differences between a 2000 XC and a 2000 XC SE? Also, is the SE designation apply past the 2000 model year?

All the responses your received are correct. I have a 2000 XCSE and they covered them all. When I purchased mine they were having a mid-year deal. The only other item i can think of is the steering wheel also has wood trim. All features available except the cd changer and cross bars for the roof rack.

In some places, the SE was a trim package on the XC that included, probably among other things, painted body colored side-view mirrors.

The interior also came with a laminated wood steering wheel and shift knob... also for the 2000 XC SE came special spoke alloys as opposed to a different alloy for 2000 compared to the '98-99 alloy rims. The '00 SE alloys are different from previous years though similar.
