850 heater fan finicky operation 850

Our 93 850 blower fan is inconnisistent. Sometimes it works well other times it wont come on. What is going on? Is there a sensor that is dirty or out of adjustment. I am a novice with the 850 stuff. Thank you!!

    Look for loose or corroded connections at/near the motor and for worn/dirty brushes on the motor.

    It can be a few things. But if the blower motor is original and you have a lot of miles on the car the blower motor could just be dieing a slow death. There's also a resistor mounted next to the blower motor that can be going bad but usually that's an either works or doesn't type thing. You may end up just replacing the blower motor.
