Light Switch Installation V70-XC70

I'm adding Fog Lights to my 98 V70 GLT and would like to add a factory switch. I've already ordered from Volvo a new switch but am wondering about removing the cluster on the left side of the steering wheel where it would go. Does this cluster just pop out to access the wires? If so no problem.

I did exactly this on my 1998 V70 GLM. I removed the kick plate, that gave me access to the power accessory plug (should be described in your service manual). The plug has male & female plastics plugs and you can buy the contact pins from Volvo. I just popped out the switch blank, then installed the switch (with the approapriate connectors). It was a cinch. I also installed the side running lights that I bought from the dealer, but IPD sell them as wel, with wire. Good luck.

      Cam,

You mentioned the kick plate? I found the plug ends where the lights would plug into and I opened the plate where the switch would go and found the plug for the switch. I found the fuse for the front fog lights being #17 but I'm confused about the kick plate and the power accessory plug you mentioned. I don't have a service manual so if you could explain the location further I would appreciate it.
