Dashboard sqweaks (removal?) S70

I have an annoying dashboard sqweak. It's right above the steering wheel. I happens over bumps, but can be replicated be pushing on the dashboard right over the steering wheel. Has anybody wrestled with this? What did you do?

On my newly purchased '98 S70 T5 I had the same squeeks...same issue...hold a finger on the dash from the top and it would go away...let go and it woulr come back. I complained to the guy I was buying it from right before signing the papers and he had his mechanic take out the dash and use some sort of silicone adhesive with small sponge like tape and the dash squeeks went away...then on the way home from the purchase, my car developed squeeks on the lower dash right in front of the steering wheel...actually the lower instrument panel to the right and left of the steering column. I could push it with my finger (any place on this panel that runs from door to radio) and it would go away until I let go of it. I'm wondering what to do with stopping the squeeks in this location...sounds like 2 pieces of styrafoam rubbing against each other...very annoying. I'm to far away from the seller now (250 miles) to ask him to fix it.

    ANY IDEAS?

There are bolts to hold the dasboard to the firewall and they are accessable in the engine bay. Under the plastic cover below the windshield. You will have to remove the wipers and the plastic tray to gain access. While you are doing that, it is time to replace your fresh air filter.
