Good day all, We are looking to replace my wifes 850 glt wagon with 250,000 miles. It has been and still is a great car. We are looking at 2001 V70 non turbo and Expeditions. Was wanting some opinions on what the improvements are on the '01 V70 vs the 850. Ride, drive, comforts ect... appreciate the input!

If you want a truck and inexpensive maintenance go with the expedition.

If you want to stay with the volvo family, look for a '98 V70 GLT(low pressure turbo), and you'll probably get it for the price of a N/A engine.

Guess again!

IMHO, the 850s weren't bad cars BUT Volvos after '99 are NOT as good as the older models. I work on them daily at a dealer and I will NEVER own any '99 on up Volvo, period.

Find another nice used 850 as you won't be sorry. OK, yes the have AC Evap issues and a few others but still better than newer Volvos in my book.
