took my s80 T6 in for inspection today.. they say the driver side head light is "not bright enough" to register on their machine/sensor!! the lights come on and seem bright.. they washed and wiped down the head light but still say 'not enough' and want to fail the inspection b/c of this. the darn light looks plenty bright to me!!

any ideas??

Is the right light OK? If so. how about swapping the bulbs?

That would tell you weather the problem was the bulb or the light.

I suggest that you do not try to clean the reflector.

You could park some distance from a wall in the dark and see if you can see the difference.

A bad or dirty connector is a possibility.

I wish all states had "safety" inspections like yours. Keeps the junk off the roads. You didn't mention the year, or if the reflector appeared dirty. It may need a new bulb, but if the reflector itself is dirty you will have to replace it($$$).
