Resistant gas pedal 850 1995

This problem is really getting annoying. Gas pedal has intermittent resistence after briefly lifting foot off (to coast), then depressing it again. Just not as smooth as it used to be. I've been under the dash 3 times lubing every moving part I can see with no results. Seems smooth when I operate it by hand, but later the problem comes back while driving.

Anyone have this before? Is it the throttle cable or throttle body giving me the problem?

Car is non-turbo.

thanks for any input

As previously posted, your throttle body needs cleaning. I do mine approx every six months. This is also a good time to take out the flame trap and clean that as well.

Throttle body may need a thorough cleaning and inspection - may be best to remove it for this job. If done well the fix may last quite a while. The t.b. probably gets contaminated by blow-by gunk after a couple of years.

Yeah you might want to take the inlet hose off and spray some Berryman's Chemtool spray (Walmart) into the throttle body to clean around the butterfly plate. This needs to be done annually anyway. Check for any binding in the throttle cable pulley there near the throttle body, spray some lube on there.
