Thanks Bay 13 (blower motor removal) 850 1995

Great resource that's been around for a while. I needed to pull out my noisy blower motor and it took less than 30 min after looking at the Bay 13 site.

I didn't replace the motor but cleaned and lubed it. Much better now but it will need replacement eventually. The brushes are getting pretty worn.

Btw, I don't have a cabin filter on my car and the inside of the plenum was very clean.

Cheers,
Erwin

Should be able to get new brushes fairly cheap, and the cabin filter isn't all that bad either.

Hey Moregolf, I haven't around here for months. Thanks for the tip but the commutator rings are pretty worn too. I'll pull salvage yard blowers when I find 850s and pick up a clean one.

As usual Haynes completely missed the boat on the blower motor R&R. They don't mention the knee bolster which must be removed and the location of the screws/bolts to get the bolster and glove box out. Bay 13 had it documented perfectly.

Also, I recall reading here that there's GM or Chevy motor that crosses. Cavalier? I'll run across it again at some point. Next project is replacing the driver's side axle.

      Cheers,
      Erwin
