UK 1998 (R) Volvo V40 1731cc S40-V40 1998

Hi

UK 1998 (R) Volvo V40 1731cc
Non a/c

My heater blower just stopped working. I have checked the fuses and relays and all are ok. The motor works as I put 12v directly across it. I took the switch out to test and that seems to work. There is a good earth and I get 12v everywhere I believe I should. I have replaced the heater resistor as the old one had perished.
When I took the blower switch out to check it there were two cables on the connector that are not listed in my Haynes manual, an orange/blue and an orange/grey. I do not know what they are for, could these be the problem?
Another thing that happened is that the hazard warning lights now do not oprate, but all of the individual indicators are fine.
Help me as I am running out of ideas???

Many Thanks

Andy

have you checked the fuses under the right side footwell?

I seem to have the same problem as described by ekkypoo on my 2001 s40, beside hazard warning lights. All fuses OK, blower motor OK, all other A/C-heating controls seems to be operational, etc...
What is really the "right side footwell"?. (This may apply to v40 1998?)

Anybody has idea what may cause the problem?
Also, anyone would know where the blower rheostat (or controller) is?

Thanks,
Zagi
