Brake light sockets falling apart S40-V40

Is anyone else having the brake light bulb holders falling apart on their 2000 S40.

Both left and right side bulb sockets are separating to the point of setting the burned bulb indicator.

It appears that the molded plastic is failing and pulling out of the stamped metal frame.

So, ultimately has anyone had Volvo replace these on a recall or even a "secret" recall?

its probably due to the drl's being on all the time and getting the holders to hot

You're probably right. It is at the top of the assembly where the lights are on all the time.

I did find a place online to get replacements for around 17.00 each. If you need it.

I got them from Pep Boys for 14.00 each.

mine are ok as i have the drls off all the time
