Rattle under my seat 850

My 855 is secondhand and I have arattle under my seat that drives me crazy. I thought it was in the console "tunnel" so I removed the cosole. That wasn't it. It sounds like 2-3 screws rolling through a small pipe. Sometimes side to side, sometimes fore and aft. They never seem to get caught on anything, just roll back and forth with the car. Any similar stories?

    Rattle under my seat 850

I had the same sound when I first got my 95 850T Wagon. Turns out there was a pencil that had found it's way under the carpet and was rolling around on the metal floor. If you reach your hand under the back of the seat and feel along the carpet, as you get towards the front of the seat, the carpet actually lifts up and you can reach your hand under the carpet and feel the metal floor board- don't recall why it is this way unless it was for the heat for the rear seats. This is how I found the pencil rolling around back and forth as I accelerated or hit the brakes. Get under that seat and cop a feel.

    Good Luck!

    Keith

      Problem Solved!
Keith, thank you very much. There is a brace of metal that runs from sill to center tunnel under the seat. The brace has a cutout, as you described for the heat duct. So far I have found -yes- a pencil, 2 small wooden balls about.5 in. each and a chapstick. I wouldn't have seen the cutout without your post, looking under the seat alone ot looks really clean.
      Thanks again.
