Never had a problem with the ABS on a 1994; ABS modules became a really huge problem in 1996 and on.
1994 will have the same oh-yee-evil-evaporator problem, but by now would really think that someone would have dealt with it. Compressor, if original, is a good bet for the problem with the AC; this summer we replaced gobs of 1994 and 1995 850 AC compressors; 10 year lifespan seems to be about the norm. If the compressor works for about 5 to 10 minutes, and then once you turn it off it doesn't come back on, the problem is either the relay or the compressor clutch.
92K seems mighty low; Unless that one owner didn't drive much at all, I'd be pretty willing to bet that the odometer is broken, or was broken. You'd need to have an independent or a dealer with the Volvo Scan Tool or AutoDiagnos to check the Combi Unit for true mileage.
The 93 was the weakest of the tranny's; the 94 a bit better, but yes, 93 and 94 trannys are weak. However, with regular service, I have seen the 94 trannys go 200K+ miles. You see, weak is a relative term. We who drive 240's with AW tranny's that can withstand 400K miles or more snicker at the lowly 200K from the weaker transmissions. Those with these weaker transmissions can then scoff at the 70K typical of Ford transmissions...so you see...it's all relative.
Finally, what is the "good price" you speak of. Is it merely good, or really most sincerely good? Take into consideration the possible repair needs and add them into the cost of purchase...is it still such a good price?
Hope this helps,
Chris
