Check Engine light.

Check Engine light stays on. I have 72 K miles on my 850T5-97. What might be the reason? Do I have to use a special reset tool to reset the light or it will turn off by itself when problem disappears?
Thank You for your help.

Have you checked your engine? The computer stored codes must be read by a code reader, available at the dealer ($) or at an Autozone. They must then be cleared and repairs made. The CEL will not turn off by itself, ie. you do nothing, the light does nothing.

Equus Innova 3100 can be had for about $115. Actron also makes a unit that is a bit more expensive. Common failure you'll see on this car, especially if it is cold where you are is P0410. This is air pump that is part of the PAIR (or SAIR) system on the car. Has to do with emissions
