Flashing air recirc/ac off lights V70-XC70 1999

Hello everyone, I'm new to the XC forum. I just lost my '93 850 but inherited a '99 V70XC. I just began driving it recently and for roughly 10 seconds after starting the car, the air recirculation and AC OFF lights flash. Does anyone know what this means?
Thanks in advance,
Sean Donnelly '99V70XC 122k

Hi Sean,
Flashing lights that go out after a short while are telling you that there is a non-major fault and a fault code stored in the computer. It is not just low frean, as the system doesn't warn you of that. I have seen it mostly with one of the sensors (outside air temp, cabin temp on each side, etc.) You have to get a code reader or have a service shop read the codes and that should tell you pretty specifically what is bad.

I have a '96 855 Turbo(207,000 miles), and both times this happened, I replaced the fan motor and birdcage blower. Once I replaced the error lights went away. Problem is more prevalent in cold weather.
