Switch is $150 at dealer. I did this myself S70

Do Not listen to the book telling you to remove the interior door panel etc. (which takes up to 1.5 hours extra).

The driver's window switch can be removed with hand with good fingernails (or with upholstery removal tool or some good plastic tip tool), then install the new one.

If you are good and careful, the whole process takes less than 10 minutes.

But...it hurts the wallet. The switch is ONLY AVAILABLE at the dealer, not in an aftermarket store.

I'd not even consider a used one because the driver's switch is notoriously bad in Volvo V/S70 series.

If you take it to the dealer he will replace the whole switch - that's all four switches. You may want to pull it out and play with it yourself before you are charged $90.

Had the same problem with the passenger window on my 850. Thought it was the motor since the switch just clicked. I replaced the motor and that wasn't it. I then thought the window had jumped the track but that wasn't it either. It turned out to be the switch itself. I took the switch apart and cleaned up that particular one (sanded the contacts etc) no problems since then.

    Good Luck!
