WIndsheild Washer lines seem clogged. 850 1995

I did some debugging and fluid does come out top of the tiny filter above the resevoir. Actually it shoots out of the one hose that lies on fender top now that I monkeyed with it. Blowing into hose the goes through fender and up into hose seems clogged. I disconnect the hood hoses and put vacuum on the hoses and they hold vacumm - I thought they might pull up some fluid. Any been there done that? Owned car since new - pump seems to work but no spray on windsheild. Filter seems unobstructed.

Hi Steve,

sounds like you may have a clogged check valve. cheap and easy to fix.

its the elbow looking thing that connects the lines to the squirters and also splits one line into two to distribute fluid to both squirters.

BB.

Maybe I've missed part of the story here, but the "T" valves tend to clog. I carry a compleat new set of check valves, for the WSWs, headlights and rear wiper rattling around in my parts box. They cost about a couple bucks each.

Bay 13 (above) has instructions under "misc.", "windshield wipers".

WIndsheild Washer now work - but I also had to plug line #2 coming out of washer fluid filter 850 1995

I got the new t-valve as per bay13 (I don't have lamp washers) - and it all works but I had plug one of the 2 rubber lines that comes out of the windshild washer filter (part# 3538564). I actually used my old clogged t-valve to plug it.

So there are 2 lines coming out of the inline filter for windshield washer fluid. Once goes to the washers and the other one just seemed to clip down on the fender top. Last week I had removed this filter to see if it was clogged, after I reinstalled the filter fluid would come out of this hose to fender top.

Now that I have the new T-valves - washers work as long as I have this line plugged. Anybody know how I screwed this up?

Will try: WIndsheild Washer lines seem clogged. V70-XC70 1998

I have a couple of similar problems (plus several other unrelated problems, but that is another story) with my '98 V70 XC. When I use the windshield washer, washer fluid sprays from one of the [check valves] across the front of the car. The fluid is coming from the area of the right headlight.

The other problem is that I don't have any fluid going to my rear window washer. Does the rear washer system use the same pump as the front washers? If so, is this a problem with the valves?
