Shifter problem S80 2001

Today I had my car washed at the local car wash. I left the car to be vaccumed and after 5 minutes of waiting to see my car go thru the wash, the worker comes running for me. I had to go back to my car, because they couldn't shift the car out of PARK. I tried to no avail for another 5 minutes. The line at the car wash continued to grow!
Eventually, after turning the car on and off several times, it shifted. Why did this happen? Is this the beginning of a tranny problem? Please help!!

Shifter problem S80 2001

It's not a tranny problem. It's a switch problem. When you put your foot on the brake, and electromagnetic switch pulls the pin allowing the shifter to move from park. If it happens again, turn the key to pos I and push down on the release button next to the shifter and go to neutral, then start the car.
