Question about turbo, anyone else have this problem or suggestions?? V70-XC70

I bought a 98 XC V70 on ebay in the photo's it didn't look like a turbo and wasn't described as one, it didn't act like a turbo, no turbo Gage and no turbo marking on the car But when the my mechanic looked at it he said it was definitely a turbo, he checked the impeller and it spins freely and the waste gate works properly, his thought was that the exhaust wasn't pushing out as much as it should. Any Ideas???

Question about turbo, anyone else have this problem or suggestions?? V70-XC70

I don't know how much truth there is to this, but I've *heard* that the lack of turbo markings is a marketing thing.

Towards the latter 90's Volvo realized that their typical customers were sort of turned off whenever they saw the turbo badges, naturally thinking high-performance and problems.

    dunno. sounds probable to me.

XCs only came in LPT in the USA. Previous user was correct in that the pressue is low only about 6 psi. These are very trouble free.

It's probably a low pressure turbo, 6 psi max. I've got a V70 GLT and it's an LPT and us usefull at low speeds for added take off.
