In the am (first start), i smell gas fumes inside the cabin and it goes away when engine gets hot. then comes back when engine is cold or been sitting for 2hrs? what could be the problem or source. i serviced the whole TB body last weekend thinking it might kill the fumes. I had to press recirculate air instead of the outside air. even if it is in recirculate mode i still smell the fumes, all windows shut close

I also have a 94 non turbo 850 wagon, 195K miles, with gas fume problems. My problem seems to be made worse by cold temperatures. On a 20 degree morning after a short drive then coming back into my garage, then whole engine compartment area reeks of gasoline. With the heat on the fumes get pulled into the cabin. I started noticing the problem in the summer when sitting at a stop light with the AC on, I would get gas fumes in the cabin.

Try replacing your gas cap. Worked for me...
