After-market for a 1993 850 GLT?

Hi:

The Catalytic Converter on my car is out and I have to pass smog coming up pretty quickly. My mechanic/indy states that there are none made for my year and that the dealer is the only option for around $795.00. That's pretty steep. . .

Any ideas?
