Hello all,
I have a '95 850 sedan with 97K on it. Last week, the low fluid light on the dash came on and off. I topped it off but it only took about 2 cups of fluid.
Now, whenever I accerate and stop, it flashes on until I'm driving straight and constant. Where is the sensor plugged into the bottle that lets you know it's ready for more juice? I'll disable it and I top it off during oil changes anyway.

Boy do I feel stupid.....When I topped off the fluid the other day, I filled it, with about 2 cups of fluid, saw it was full, put the cap back on and still thought it was the low fluid sensor. Well, I just returned from "topping" it off again, but this time I waited about 15 seconds and noticed the level slowly dropping, I again topped it off......I did this for almost a gallon. I pulled the filler neck off of the hidden bottle and noticed that the filter screen was getting clogged and only allowing a little fluid in at a time....So all along it wasn't the sensor.....it was the pourer (me)......the simplest is usually the most obvious........

(But, I don't think I'll tell my wife.....because I'll hear it forever, aka, married 30 years)

Yeah, I put up with that flashing light for about a month before figuring that one out. I think there's some rubber tubing down there which can completely pinch off anything you're trying to pour into the reservoir. I'm sure the 240s were simpler...

Do not feel stupid,there can be a situation when this can happen and the resivoir will be full.If the sending unit sticks in the resivoir the light will illuminate all the time.Also if the wire grounds out from the sender to the instrument cluster,the light will come on.

I went through the same thing a few years ago, even had the dealer replace the sensor! The filter in the filler neck can be removed. I can't believe there is too much to filter out of washer fulid in the first place. Glad I'm not alone in figuring out some of these problems. Always check the brickboard first!!! Jim.
