I'm still searching for a manual trans. 850 wagon. Any advice or offers would be great.

I bought a manual 850 sedan recently. I didn't take very long to find.

I have a friend who works for a dealer and he found one that came in on trade. I can say I love it. It replaced my 90 240. It's a nicer car to drive than my 240 and wife's V70 AWD.

My reasons for buy an manual were for transmission reliability. I have heard that 850/V70 automatic transmissions were not bullet proof. In fact, I'm on a 30K transmission flush schedule on the V70. That doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Can I ask what your needs in a tranmsision are?

The reason why I'm asking is because my 850 is not really sporty. Most Americans equate manual with sport. Volvo doesn't. I'm not an expert on this matter but my research taught me that Volvo put the manual transmission in mostly their base cars, although mine is a glt. I do not beleive you can get the manual with a turbo unless under the R badge. I think of my 850 as rather large stately european sedan whose RPMs will never see a redline. I love it.

Good luck. And I don't think I'd buy a car on Ebay. That's coming from a guy who buy lots of stuff on Ebay

As far other sources cars.com seems to be a good one. I did just do a search and found a nice looking C70 in DC for 10K with manual 202-486-0939 - classified ad. You might want to tell your local dealer about what your looking for as I did, worked for me. If I remember right from your prior post you life in FL. You might have to look outside of FL. I live in New England and it seems like more people drive manual here than in other areas. Our salt is bad for cars, but no worse than in FL at times, depending on where in FL you live...

Well, I'm only 16, but from the cars that I have driven, I like manual better. I think it gives you a lot more control than automatic. My parents want me to get a volvo, and I like the 850's. Whenever I search for volvos, I never search in my region because I know noone has volvos around here. Thanks for the advice, I'm still searching, but I too have found that cars.com has a large inventory.
