Service at 105K for 98 S70? S70

Are there any services that I need to have done at 105K for my 1998 S70 Base (build date 12/97)? I am scheduled for an oil change, but I'd like to know if there's anything else I need to have done.

Thanks!

Hi Matt,

I'm guessing you just did quite a bit for the 100k service, correct? If so, follow the same as what you would do during an oil change. Check fluids, lubricate hinges, etc.

What is the big service to be completed at 100K?

Cap, rotor, spark plug wires, clean throttle body, flush tranny, flush coolant, fuel filter (as mentioned), clean flame trap nipple and check to verify that PCV lines are not blocked, check tie rods, ball joints, battery.

O2 sensors usually last 100k, but you may get more out of those. However, fuel efficiency begins to suffer as the 02 sensors age, and the ones in our 98 are designed to last 100k. That being said, I have not swapped mine out yet, but plan to do it next spring, at which time I will have approx 110k miles on the car.

check brake pads/rotors, rotate tires (every 5k miles or with each oil change)

I could go on and on....

There is quite a lot to do, but no one said you have to do it all at once. I spaced mine out over the 95-100k mile range, over the course of a couple of months.

Agree that you should check hoses, including heater hoses at the firewall, and make sure they still have servicable life left.

Fuel Filter change.

You might consider replacing the hoses if they have not yet been replaced since the car is over 6 years old.
